He leaned in to her, every detail of his face noticeable in the pale, silvery moonlight that washed away the darkness. His warm breath fogged in the cold December air, warming her freezing face. He held her face in both of his gloved hands, stroking her fresh tears away.
"You're not alone," he whispered, his breath sweeping into her face once more. It smelled so sweet…so indescribable; like honey somehow. "You'll never be alone again."
A strand of her raven hair fell from her wool hat that covered her ears. She watched him tuck it behind her ear gently with her sad and innocent violet eyes that were glass in the light, shining so prettily. He then turned his gaze to her own. It was intense and hypnotizing; she just couldn't take her eyes off of his own catlike ones with narrow slits and the color of golden honey mixed with onyx.
He stroked her cheek and she closed her eyes as she enjoyed the caress. Her heart throbbed and pounded with love, feeling it jump every so often. It was a wonderful feeling.
Then, he began to lean in more, closing in on her lips. Hers met his ever so tenderly. Her heart jumped again as she literally felt herself melt into it. For what seemed like an eternity, the two were one forever; two souls that morphed into one being. The two felt like they belonged because they both had someone who understood them.
They both pulled away for a single breath of air. Her usually downcast expression lit up with a sweet smile filled with all the good things of light; most of all love and happiness. He returned her smile.
"Wynne…you're my life."
"As you are mine, Sevilen."
Sevilen brushed his lips against Wynne's again, her heart beating fast. The kiss became deeper with a tinge of passion. He held the back of her head with one hand and the other on her cheek. Because her hands had nowhere to go, he removed his own and held them tightly in his, determined to keep them warm for Wynne wore no gloves herself.
Finally after two long minutes, they both pulled away. She observed how his shaggy black hair fell perfectly over his eyes and took in his crooked smile. Sevilen spotted the darkness that lingered behind Wynne's dark eyes, and vice versa. They were both similar in many ways. Because no one understood them, they were both lost in a way and deprived of true friendship and happiness.
"I couldn't hold it in anymore. Wynne," he breathed nervously, bowing his head, "I…I love you."
"You…you do?"
"Yes, I do. Forever."
By this time, Wynne had tears in her eyes. She wasn't crying from sadness, but rather from pure joy. Her heart was full and not the empty void it has once been long ago.
"What's wrong?" he asked softly, holding her face in his hands again, brushing away her tears with his thumbs.
"Nothing, it's just that…that all my life I've been so lonely and alone all the time. Even if I was surrounded by people."
"I've felt the exact same way, too, Wynne. My life was simply a big blank until you came along and filled it with color. Before, I saw the world in black and white."
"You're someone like me. We're like each other. Only we understand each other. Why do you love me?"
Sevilen kissed her forehead and pulled her next to him. He wrapped his arm around her delicate waist, seeming to be careful not to break her frail frame.
"Because you brought me out of the dark and into the light. Also, because you're unique. You fascinate me."
He embraced her as they both sat side to side together on the bench and watched the snow drift lazily to the ground. She relaxed against his body, savoring the warmth. She placed her head on her shoulder and his on hers. Suddenly, he moved adruptly and took her hands in his. He yanked off his gloves.
"What are you doing?"
"Keeping you warm. Your hands must be freezing."
"No, I'm fine. Really."
"Still…"
Sevilen took his gloves and slid them onto her hands. They were baggy from the size, but they brought heat, nonetheless.
"Aren't your hands cold?"
"Yeah, but…I'll be fine. You're health is more important than I am."
A smile played on the edges of Wynne's mouth.
"Oh…I just love you."
Then, she began to kiss him tenderly as he had to her.
She pulled away and murmured, "I don't know what I'd do without you."
This is something I had done a few years ago. It's very short and is only about two pages in total length. It's meant to be unfinished and mysterious.
